A biotech farm in Brgy. Anao, Mexico, Pampanga, again chalked up a bountiful Bt corn harvest this season. Owned by Carlos Guevara, a multi-awarded outstanding farmer, the farm was visited recently by 18 representatives from the network of Biotechnology Information Centers of the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) Global Knowledge Center. The BICs held their annual network meeting in the Philippines recently. While in the country, the participants visited biotech farms and research institutions such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) both in Los Baños, Laguna.
